GHS Classification & Labelling

Hazard classification, pictogram selection, and label design for global markets

Programme overview

GHS Classification
& Labelling

Structured GHS classification using physical, health, and environmental hazard criteria. Outputs include signal word, pictogram, hazard statements (H-codes), precautionary statements (P-codes), and fully compliant labels designed for each target market.

GHS Classification & Labelling — Overview
How we deliver it

Our implementation model

A practical, phased delivery approach — from gap assessment through operational embedding — built around your regulatory context.

Substance Identification & Data Compilation

Identify substance per CAS / EC / IUPAC; compile hazard data from literature, supplier SDS, ECHA REACH dossier, OECD eChemPortal, NLM PubMed; align with REACH Annex VII-XI tiered data requirement.

Physical Hazard Classification

Classify physical hazards per GHS Rev. 10 / CLP — explosives (Cat 1.1-1.6), flammable gas / aerosol / liquid / solid, oxidising, self-reactive, pyrophoric, self-heating, water-reactive, organic peroxide, corrosive to metals; align with UN TDG.

Health Hazard Classification

Classify health hazards per GHS — acute toxicity (Cat 1-5), skin / eye, respiratory / skin sensitisation, germ cell mutagenicity, carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, STOT (single / repeated), aspiration hazard; apply bridging for mixtures per Annex I.

Environmental Hazard Classification

Classify environmental hazards per GHS — aquatic acute (Cat 1-3), aquatic chronic (Cat 1-4), ozone-depleting (EU CLP Annex VI); apply mixture rules with summation method and additivity formula; align with EU CLP / WHMIS / national regulators.

Label Design & Pictogram Application

Design label per GHS / CLP / OSHA HCS — product identifier, signal word (Danger / Warning), pictogram (9 GHS pictograms), hazard statement (H-code), precautionary statement (P-code); align with EU CLP Annex VII signal-word selection rules.

Notification & Inventory Submission

Submit classification per regulatory inventory — ECHA C&L Inventory (EU), Japan METI, China MEE, India BIS; coordinate with REACH registration / authorisation; align with CDR (Chemical Data Reporting) per US TSCA.
