Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)

We run RCM to SAE JA1011 so each asset gets a maintenance strategy ranked by criticality and chosen by failure consequence

Programme overview

Reliability Centered
Maintenance (RCM)

Reliability Centred Maintenance works through the SAE JA1011 and JA1012 logic tree to choose the right maintenance strategy for every asset. For each one our team decides whether predictive, preventive, run to failure or a design change makes the most sense, weighing technical feasibility against the consequence of the failure. We then turn those decisions into CMMS work orders written so plainly that your operations team can pick them up and run them.

Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Overview
How we deliver it

Our implementation model

A practical, phased delivery approach that runs from gap assessment through operational embedding and is built around your regulatory context.

Asset Criticality Ranking

Per SAE JA1011, rank assets by criticality, safety, environmental, production, cost consequences.

Functional Failure Analysis

Identify each asset's primary functions, functional failures, and failure modes per FMEA / FMECA approach.

Failure Consequence Analysis

Categorise consequences, hidden / safety environmental / operational / non operational, per JA1011 logic tree.

Maintenance Task Selection

Select tasks per RCM decision tree, predictive, preventive, run to failure, or design change based on technical feasibility.

CMMS Integration

Translate RCM outputs into CMMS work orders, PM schedules, condition monitoring routines, integrate with ERP.

Living Programme Discipline

Periodic RCM revalidation triggered by failures, modifications, technology change, integrate with ISO 55001.

What the programme covers

Reliability Centered in full scope

We rank every asset by its criticality
We analyse how each function can fail
We sort failures by the consequence they carry
We select tasks using the JA1011 logic tree
We write the results straight into your CMMS
We keep the programme alive through scheduled revalidation
Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Coverage
Business value

Value of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)

Consequence Based Prevention
  • Failures with a safety consequence are headed off
  • Hidden failures are brought to light through deliberate testing
  • Maintenance lines up with how equipment actually fails
  • Emergency repairs happen far less often
RCM Governance
  • Your JA1011 decisions stand up to examination with full traceability
  • Your work satisfies the CCPS RBPS mechanical integrity element
  • You hold clear evidence for ISO 55001
  • Your inspections stay aligned with the API codes
Maintenance Effectiveness
  • Effort concentrates on the assets that matter most
  • Needless routine work on minor assets falls away
  • Mean time between failures improves
  • Spares are right sized to the strategy
RCM Return
  • Maintenance cost falls by roughly fifteen to thirty percent
  • Spares inventory comes down
  • Failure costs are avoided
  • Lifecycle cost is brought under control
