PSM 1910.119(h)
OSHA PSM 1910.119(h) covers the maintenance, repair, turnaround, major renovation and specialty work that contractors perform on or near your covered processes. The element divides responsibility cleanly, and our team builds a programme that honours both halves. The employer obligations under (h)(2) cover selecting contractors on their safety performance, sharing hazard information, running pre job orientation, tracking injuries and illnesses and evaluating performance over time. The contractor obligations under (h)(3) cover employee training, documented competency, supervisor accountability for safety, hazard reporting and adherence to your safety rules. Without a structured programme, contractor incident rates have historically run two to five times those of your direct workforce. We close that gap and integrate the programme with pre qualification frameworks such as ISNetworld, Avetta and ConstructSecure as well as India's OISD STD 149.
