(RBPS Element 12)
Training and Performance Assurance is the operational arm of Process Safety Competency. It is the actual delivery of role based training, the assessment that proves competency and the retraining cycles that prevent skills from decaying. The element maps to OSHA PSM 1910.119(g), which requires initial training before assignment, a refresher every three years or more often if procedures change, and documented verification that the employee understands the training. The failures are familiar. Generic training that does not fit the role, classroom only delivery that never transfers to the field and the quiet expiry where refresher cycles slip. Our team builds programmes around scenario based simulators, demonstration of competency on the job and a quarterly review of training currency.

How the study is executed
A structured, facilitated process that runs from scope definition through close out and produces defensible, actionable outputs.
Following ISO 10015 we map the gap between role and competency, separate generic content from role specific and site specific content and align it with your hiring and promotion cycles.
We build a modular curriculum for each role that integrates process safety, operating procedures, emergency response and behavioural training and we specify the Bloom's Taxonomy level for each module.
We use classroom for foundation, simulator for emergency response, on the job delivery for procedural skills and blended e learning for refreshers, designed around the Kirkpatrick levels one through four.
We assess through written examination, practical demonstration and a scenario based test and document the verification to OSHA PSM (g)(3).
We track training records, refresher cycles and certification expiry in the learning management system and run a quarterly leadership review of currency status.
We trigger targeted retraining whenever a management of change affects a procedure relevant to a role and integrate it with the change closure gate.
