Bow tie analysis puts the moment control is lost, the top event, in the centre. Threats that can cause it sit on the left with the prevention barriers that stop them; consequences sit on the right with the mitigation barriers that limit them. Named revisions and sign-offs kept inside the file in a hash chain. A sign-off made online gets a checkpoint signed by our server, so a later change is detected.
Your bow ties stay on your computers
BOWTY Expert is a desktop application, not a website. Files live on your own disk or in your company's shared folders, where several people can work on them; a lock file tells a colleague who has a bow tie open. Only the licence check and, when you sign off a revision online, the revision's fingerprint go to our server, never the content.
What it is not
A substitute for a competent team. BOWTY Expert records and presents your analysis; the threats, barriers, risk criteria and the decision that a risk is acceptable remain yours.

Is there a free trial?
Yes: 6 months, started in BOWTY Expert after you sign in. There is one trial per person and one per organisation. Nothing to pay and nothing to cancel.
How do I buy a licence?
In BOWTY Expert, under Account & Licence. Payment is completed on the BOWTY licensing service (bowty.arborionglobal.com) through Razorpay, in Indian rupees, for buyers in India, and we issue a GST tax invoice. Which account do I sign in with?
Your Arborion account, the same account as for PHAx. Signing in activates BOWTY Expert on that computer, once; there are no licence keys.
Which computers does it run on?
macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel: a universal disk image, signed with Arborion Global's Developer ID and notarised by Apple. Windows 10 (22H2) or 11, 64-bit: a per-user installer or a portable .zip, not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn before it runs.
Do my bow ties leave my computer?
No. Bow ties are .bt files on your own computer or shared folders. Only the licence check and, when you sign off a revision online, the revision's fingerprint go to our server, never the content.
Does it work without the internet?
BOWTY Expert needs the internet to sign in and to activate a computer. After that the licence is confirmed online at least every 7 days and it works offline in between.
How are updates delivered?
BOWTY Expert tells you when a new version is on the download page; nothing is downloaded or installed automatically.
Can I get a refund?
Cancellations are refunded pro rata for the unused part of the year, as the BOWTY Expert Refund Policy sets out.
